1996 Sl320 inoperative check engine light

All bulbs checked, all fuses checked, all are good.
SRS light has been out since purchased. Check engine light failure recent.
Car runs very well, cannot get inspected if check engine light does not come on in the pre start position.
Any suggestions.
Thanking you in advance for your time.

Uhhh..hate to say it, but a common "fix" for a CE light, especially when selling a car, is to remove the bulb or install "blown" (with 24 volts!) light bulbs...I hope this is not the case...

Try re-posting this question in the "tech" section. This would not be a problem restricted to SL's. We assume you pulled the VDO to check the lamps.
