Got it - great --Ok then - further testing, If the throttle plate is depressed ( by hand) she fires up, so it looks like crud and the like, can it be cleaned, restored - anyone with a cleaning procedure or been there done that. I searched but nothing found
I dont think it is vacuum realted - holding good vacuum, door locks working ect

just another thought Ron but as you are starting from cold and the car has sat for some time, check the WUR is supplying the right control pressure back to the Fuel dist. It may be the WUR is stuck and the control pressure is too high and the piston (on the other end of the air plate arm) that moves up and down in the FD cannot move enough initially on cold start. Check the archives for WUR pressure but as I remember there is a very kind guy on the forum who will lend you the pressure tester. I have seen WUR's with mashed up springs (who knows how crudded up filters, just tons of general engine crud inside them etc. I have a spare good one at home just to test with although one day I need to buy the special pressure tester)

Failing that you have to remove the FD and the air flow housing off the throttle body. It actually a very simple job, release pressure, undo input and return lines (pull the internal filters and clean them) pull the 8 fuel lines and the lines to the WUR, pull the electrical connector. Undo the 4 bolts holding the assembly to the manifold (I loosen the FD screws forst as it a PITA once removed to get a good hold) as i remember you have to move the long accelerator linkage rod too then undo the band on the rubber gasket between the FD air flow set up and the throttle body and lift off.

once you have it off you can look in the inside and see the adjusting arm between the air plate and the FD and do all of the cleaning etc and check your contacts. I have disembled a few FD'd (although other here can give you more details I'm sure) just make sure you have new rubber O rings before you start. I wouldnt take the FD apart, just remove the holding plate and drop the piston out and make sure its clean and the bore is clean etc

slap it all back together and check your pressures
