Seat replacement or repair for 95 SL500
I've bought a '95 SL500 and found that the previous owner had a dog that really liked the taste of leather. Would I better off to simply replace the whole seat and if so, where could I find one? Or do I need to take it to an upholstery shop for repair?

The upholstery sections on 129s come off fairly easily (the bottom cushion especially, just 2 screws), so would be easy to take them off and have them repaired. Otherwise those seats are really expensive to replace. MB will still sell seat covers, so you could get those replaced and will look new, but the covers can be pricey.

Thanks for the reply. I've got a guy in town who may be able to do it. If not, I'm sure the dealership would be happy to accomodate me.

These places sell replacement leather too, quite a bit less than MB.
