SL Original Sales Prices?

Hi, I'm trying to determine original sales prices for an 87 560sl and an 85 500sl. I understand that options may affect the price - Does anyone know where this info can be found? Thanks for any pointers...Tom G.

I know that a 1988 560SL went for $61,130, but not sure for an 87 yet.

Not sure on the other car

You can get a copy of the original MSRP sticker for your specific car from MBUSA. Call (800) 637-2360.

Wink hey!

All you have to do is go to www.nada.com go to classics and enter your vehicle for pricing- at the top of all the guidelines there is a MRSP for each car! Hope it helps!

I have an 87 560 SL, and I have the original window sticker in the glove box.
When I return home in 10 days, and if you want, I can scan and forward a copy of it to you. As I recall, price was slightly over $60K, which included a "gas guzzler" tax of about $1400. Let me know if you want it.

Using your method, the MSRP was $55,300

According to my window sticker, the price for my 1986 560SL
was $53,790 plus $30. CA emissions and $1300 Gas Guzzler Tax (EPA estimate of 14 MPG City and 17 Highway. I actually get 16-17 average.) for a total of $55,060.

And my first house in 1977 was $40,000

Here is a copy (I had to take 2 scans as it was too large for my scanner) I scanned today of my original window sticker for my 87 560 SL, attached. Note "Suggested Advertised Delivery Price" was $59,580, Plus $1300 Guzzler tax for grand total of $60,880.
I have owned this car about a year. I bought it from the original Virginia owner, who cared for it pretty well. It has 140K miles, no rust, original paint and runs strong.
It's not a classic, but almost a daily driver that my wife and I immensely enjoy driving!
This forum has helped me a lot the past several years in learning to fix things myself on these old cars.
I had an 89 560 SL with no original window sticker, and asked Mercedes for a copy of the sticker. Their reply was that the car was too old to provide that to me. You may not be able to get a copy of your specific window sticker from MB.
