AMG steering wheel on 107 chassis SL?

I pulled this off a 126 chassis(83 500SEC) coupe yesterday. It is marked "made in Italy".Black leather rim 4 spoke design.I thought maybe it was a Nardi?
It has a hub adapter that fits the larger splines which use a large "screw" with a 10mm hex head to hold on the wheel, rather than a 22 mm nut like my 107 has.
No access to the digital camera right now,but the wheel bolts to the hub using 3 hex head screws.I've got it on the 240D right now but I wanted it for my 450SL.Anybody know if /where I might locate the proper hub adapter?
Don't care if it's new or used. These appear to be pricey, perfunctory look on the internet didn't find the correct one,but what I did find was in the 60-100$ range.
I might consider selling it if I can't get it to work on the SL.

wheel - wheely!

Hi wine

If it's a smaller diameter wheel than the existing GIANT MB wheel ( what were they thinking about!) - you go for it - it makes the 107 a totally different drive - more responsive and MUCH EASIER TO GET INTO, only downside is it's harder to read the speedo - if you ever do that!!

cheers

Jim

My SL AMG came with a stock steering wheel that AMG recovered in fine leather, but I preferred the smaller AMG version wheels. So I found a great wheel, without an adapter, bought it, and sourced an aftermarket reproduction adapter from the internet. That adapter sucked and it placed the wheel in the wrong place. My solution was that I found a second AMG steering wheel in even better shape than the one I had, plus this new one came with an '80s period adapter. It fits perfectly.

My advice? Ebay to find an '80s period adapter and skip the reproduction ones.

It's cool, I have the earlier version with the horn buttons at the outer edges of the spokes and the regular benz button in the middle. These were called Silperfiel wheels

Installed:but not sure I like it?

I've got it on my 240D right now and as mentioned it does obscure the view of the gauges.I like the "feel" much better though,I think you just get too much leverage with that large diameter stock wheel.
I'll start looking on e-bay to find the correct adapter as I really would like to use this on the 450SL
No camera right now,but I'll try to post a pic of this later.I think it is the one another posted about with the 4 horn buttons.
I'm sure it's worth more than what I paid for it if I decide I don't like it.

If you decide you will part with it, I am interested in the wheel and W126 adapter. Please email photos to 48hp@earthlink.net. Thank you.
