Temperature guage doesn't guage???

1986 560sl ,new temp sensor,hasn't worked for two years,going to
take the cluster out.When the key is turned on you can see the
needle jump about 1/16 of an inch,but that is all.When I get it
out can you repair these things???

Not that I'm aware of, Troop. I'd check for breaks in the connection to the sending unit first. I've had American made cars where the wire shorted out on the frame, or broke, and were easily repaired.

You have tried grounding the sensor wire to see if the gauge itself works haven't you?

In jump school,when you hit the ground you have 5 points of
contact.feet,calves,upper thigh,butt,and latts.I must have
had my head up my 4th point of contact,I missed that
completely.Jeez I hate getting old,suffering from CRS,can't
remember ****!!Thanks will do.

yup , don't dish the guage until you are sure you have input
