Oil pressure gauge?
The oil pressure gauge on my '84 380SL jumps to max pressure the moment the car is started, in fact, it maxes out as soon as the ignition is switched on. I suspect a short is grounding it out. Might it be a defective gauge? Any ideas on a fix? Thanks for any help. Ned

Ooops! Just found the thread on the instrument cluster grounds. I'll check that out today! Hopefully that will fix it. Ned

it is a line pressure guage so unless the engine is running it should not be pegged

I think the '84 is electronic. Our early ones are direct. My '81 280 is elec.

really? all the w126's I have worked on ( 80-85) were direct, were the R107's that different?
