Water Leak Passenger Floor

Just purchased a 86 300SL Europeon modle. When first bought ripped up rear rugs and found rust and wet floor behind the passenger seat. Wire brushed it down and painted. Still smelled musty after rain. Have soft top on. Pulled front pass rug and same issue. Pulled tar sheet up and floor board was wet and rusty. Did same restoration. Problem is water still leaking. Driver side is dry as a bone. Am looking at new weatherstriping for pass side door/window.

Any one had similiar problem and where do I look to fix. Where is best place to buy new weather striping. Have looked at Performance Parts or something like that or is it best to go with OEM. If OEm is it where do I get it.

Thanks

Remove the screws from the blower motor cover in front of the windshield, and lift the cover. Check the drain holes, and look for rust around the blower motor. In this case, water will leak out from under the console.

Also check the windshield seal by removing the passenger side kick panel, running water down the windshield, and seeing if the water drips down from the dash.

Probably one or both of the above.

On top of the blower motor......Sorry, couldn't resist.
Also go here and sign up. It is free but requies a C.C number to verify Us residence.

Blower motor cover is here, on top of the firewall. Black plastic cover.
