Options for R107 sunvisors

The 560SL's sunvisors are the last part of the interior that really need work. I have seen aftermarket replacements for the early type, but not the late type with the lighted mirrors. Are there any other options besides the super $$ OEM visors? Has anybody tried retrofitting visors from another model? The R107 design seems less that stellar...both of the family's R107s have awful, floppy visors.

Thanks.

I paid $280 for my one-mirror visors from MB Classic Center. Brand new. Your other option is to get a set off a donor car from the north - the southern cars get exposed to too much heat and they fall apart quicker down here.

Bump.

Anybody have a good source for reproduction visors for the late R107? So far the cheapest I have found is $109: http://www.performanceproducts4benz.com/product.asp?pf_id=MS-1081&dept_id=6315

I got REAL lucky on EBay several years ago. My 560SL didn't have any visors when I got it - no mounting bars, just holes where they went and the plastic female end clips in the windshield header. One fine day I browsed and found a pair in grey, in perfect shape, mirrors and all, complete, for just over $200.00 buy-it-now. Boy, did I jump on that fast. If you persist, eventually a pair will appear, but much easier to find if you only need the flaps.
Before I found them, I looked at retrofitting a pair from another model. It should be possible to do this, IMO, but only if you have the mounting hardware parts. I did search and found several articles on refinishing these, basically similar in design of the vinyl flap part.
