sl320 hood won't open.

Hi, just bought a 97 sl320. can't get the hood up. no owners guide. feel stupid. Can you help? Thanks

You bought this car without looking under the hood? Hope there is an engine

THe hood latch pre-release is on the drivers side kick panel ( inside the cabin) in my 1991 model. Don't know if it is there in later years..
