1995 SL500 Engine/ Alternator wiring sub-harness

I have replaced my engine wiring harness and discovered today that the wiring sub-harness connecting the alternator circuit also has the same brittle and cracked wiring as the upper engine harness. Any of the MB techs know what this sub harness is called? How big of a job is involved in replacing it. Mercedes dealer in my area printed off many of the wiring circuits for this car, but they lack in the detail required to figure out whats going where. They suggested getting a mercedes part number off one of the connectors. Anyone out there have any ideas about replacing this wiring. Thanks, Steve
