What code is the car giving?

Did you replace the asr/abs charging pump?

Are all the tires pressures as they are supposed to be? If not, some have reported this has triggered their asr light to illuminate.

no abs/asr changing pump YET!

my indy is doing the work so i dont know the codes but he said i was getting a crank sensor code that was the last thing i remember. He already had 10 codes to deal with before we replaced that laundry list of parts. i have to bring it back tuesday. I am wondering if its that rebuilt Throttle Body. I got it from Beekman

i am frustrated. Its allot of money to throw at this problem and still have it not fixed.

thanks.

"crank sensor code"? If this is in reference to the crank shaft position sensor, I strongly doubt it could have anything to do with an asr issue. There are sensors and tone wheels at each wheel. I've seen cases where the abs tone wheels get so rusty they don't generate a clean signal and of course the abs coil sensors themselves are subject to failure and connector corrosion. The connector is located behind the wheel and is subject to a lot of water. Have a look at the wiki on how to change your brake pads for a look at the abs coils. Also, Google up anti lock brakes.....

well its "FIXED" i haven't gotten it yet due to snow and the holiday. They said they had to make some "adjustments" Who knows, We shall see. I think i will replace the speed sensors just to be safe. its a cheap fix and i can cross it off the list IF the ASR light comes back on.

yup not fixed. As i suspected.

i will have him check the charging pump.

Now when the asr comes on and i shift into neutral i get a revving engine.

I am still suspect to the TB.

You must be rich. Just throwning expensive parts at this problem without a good diagnosis.... Find a better mechanic.

Well, they had to replace the harness and throttle body for to do a proper diagnosis, if that didn't fix the problem. I assume its a '93-'95? The MAF is a standard replacement as well.

The ASR computer was a bad call, IMO, that should have been a last resort.

How is old is your battery? Do the cables look corroded? Low voltage can also bring on the dreaded issue.

ok update. Drove teh car today for a hour. no light. I am not gonna bring the car back to that shop just yet. I am gonna let the car sit for a while and do some work myself thanks to all your ideas. I was thinking battery. Its about 5 years old. No corrosion. Clean wires.

As for the computer they said it was dead. They also said if u change the TB u have to change the computer. Ok change it. At least we can check it off the list.

I was also reading where someone actually just took the computer out and jumped the cable to disable the asr and drive like that with no LH Mode.

once again thanks everyone's .02
