installation of plastic dashcap
Having recently purchased a 1982 500sl (euro), I'm looking to make a number of cosmetic enhancements. I’m going to put a plastic dashcap on because the dash is cracked in many places. Just received it in the mail, looks easy enough to install except for having to cut a hole in the middle of it for the square thermostat/temp sensor. Two questions:
1. What should I use to cut the hole in the plastic dashcap, it looks brittle to me and I’m afraid of cracking my $100 investment before I even start. 2. It appears to me the little square thingy covering the temp. sensor should come off, and that I should just replace it after installing the dash cap. Any ideas on how to pry it off without breaking things? Is it glued in place? Thanks for the help. Kevin Tabb 1982 500sl |
