Hi,

You'll find relevant posts on the wire issue in www.benzworld.org. Appparently, it is a fairly easy and not that expensive operation.

'95 Wiring issues

Is your check engine lite on? or the ABS/ASR dash lite? These are indicators of not only the Main Wiring Harness deteriorated but also the ABS wires and the Throttle Body. I have a '95 with 107K miles and I bought mine without knowing these issues at time of purchase. I have replaced all the engine compartment wiring harnesses and had the throttle body rebuilt by BBA Reman. Car runs perfect. I did all of the work myself. You can obtain the wiring harnesses from the folks that support this site. Email me if you have questions Steve fazekas@baxter.com

When you know you have a bad wiring harness on a car like that, and it's running poorly, you need to start with a new (or repaired) harness. It's just doesn't pay to look for other problems on such a bad electrical foundation.
