my idle control valve tests 8-9ohms (81 380slc)
is it bad? cleaned and rattling and clacking but reading across terminals i get a high 8 to 9 ohms............ 81 380slc

Mine's at 3.7 ohms. Sometimes if you give them a good crack with a wrench it will make the idle go down.

so i get another and before install i test and this one is same 9ish ohms, am i doing something wrong 81 380 slc in hand digital meter ohms pos probe on one neg probe on other ....... ohms 9ish. ALSO volt probe the connection(running) its 14.3 trouble there? there is no getting a manual spec of 3.5 to 5.5 ohm range on either valve 000 141 12 25.

two more valves there telling me one/both is 8..-9.. ohms id say for this car its correct.
manual i have doesnt say nor so finding research. if anyone factually knows post. im on to next on the basket case. varoom. |

The test is to slide the connector back and test the voltage across the two pins with the engine at hot idle. That's where you should see the 3.7 to 4.5 volts.
