I noticed it as well. I will never fork over that kind of money for a steering wheel. Nice to have but not needed.

I always love Nardi wheels but I hate the signature they put on them.

I've noticed that a seller or two on eBay have absolutely outrageous pricing on some stuff, but they have international shipping - so maybe there are some markets where availability wins over price.

Looking at the sellers feedback - quite a few people buy it.

It goes with the sports celebrity package.
This way, the steering wheel matches the the exterior trim.....

I have that wheel in standard chrome on my E9. Nardi wheels are so pretty, I'd like to have another. I find it interesting most of them are in japan. Being an Italian wheel.

Personally I think the SL interior is meant to be understated as part of the overall car's character and I've not seen a wooden/shiny steering wheel that looked good against the rest of the interior.

The Nardi wheel is made in Japan now. Rima bought these items from a dealer in Italy and these are Italian made Nardi wheels, horn Buttons and centers. She used to have a picture on her web site displaying 50-100 of the pristine Horn Buttons on a glass covered dining room table. These wheels are a work of art.

I had one for my SL, and went back to stock.

The stock wheel partially blocks the gages, the Nardi with it's smaller diameter pretty much blocked all the gages.

Pretty, but not functional for me.

I've got a nice factory wood wheel on our 68 MGB.
On this car, the wood wheel perfectly complements the car. Must be the wire wheels and knock offs.

If you need it you will pay

Hey I own some old American cars and if you really need it pristine you will pay the price for the part you need, especially the cosmetic stuff. Just looked at the guys items and saw a Trans Am steering wheel for $249 you can't find them anymore, so if you want your classic to look nice you buy the part.
