It takes 2 cranks to start.

This new-to-me 560sl takes 2 cranks to start. Once it starts, it's fine.

Is this an indication that it needs new plugs? Could it be the fuel pressure at the injectors?

Where would you start? (This is my first gas Benz)

I would add under the etc part new plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. Also you might try getting a bottle of Chevron Techron gas treatment and then take her on the highway and run the snot out of her. The 560sl's do not have points so don't worry about that. Is it a cold start or warm start problem?
