Such a thing as a 1989 280CE?

I did a precursory search for this year/model.....but did not find it anywhere. I have a chance to buye one with 100,000 miles, in good running condion for 500-1000.00-can anyone tell me what size engine this has, and what sort of mileage I might expect, as I contemplate using it daily.

I'm pretty sure that in 1989, the only CE's available were the 230CE and the 300CE. In later years there may have been others (like an E220 Coupe).

The 280CE's were made until 1985; if it is a 1989 car, it's gotta be a 230CE or a 300CE.

You can type the the VIN through here and see how it comes back:

The 10th digit letter of the VIN is coded for the model year - from B in 81, up to K in 89, skipping I.

The VINs are, usually, on the A Post, driver's side...little rectangle, silver metal tab...read it carefully. Other places? B post, around the driver's door latch on the post itself.

Anyone else with a different location possibility?

Firewall, trunk lid (right beneath license plate), inner fender stickers. Make sure they all match too
