Lol, when I had a 450SL some 20 years ago I asked about the subframe recall, and told then I wanted it done, for free. A long period of silence ensued, followed by a "you aren't serious are you?".

Though rude doesn't begin to describe the attitude of Jaguar dealers when you are trying to order parts for a neo-classic model like a XJS. They flat out refused to do an alignment because I was the second owner....

I Hope you got the subframe done, it was a recall and should honor the request. BTW, I would love to have them store my hardtop. I put it up in the rafters using a boat winch , still there , 4 years later ...lol

I am lucky, with a good dealership in Milwaukee.

I had a 63 300 SE euro spec and i needed all 3 keys.

I went in with the title. The parts guy knew right away that it would be a job for the classic center. He called the classic center and faxed the title. They called MB Germany and got a faxed copy of the original data sheet for the car. The 3 keys were then cut in Dallas and overnighted to Concourse motors in Milwaukee. It took 3 days and $32.

Can't get any better service then that.

Lonestare Merceded in Calgary, AB is really good. The one parts guy, Kevin, can get stuff for just about anything if it's still being made. He got some stuff for my friend's black series SL mercedes, even though it's technically not allowed in Canada...
It was brought in as a movie prop...
