door edge guards installation - easy?

I am thinking of installing the metal door edge guards for my black 560SL, getting the black colored ones of course.

Looking to see if anyone here has installed them and if so if it was a difficult job or not?

If you have them installed, have they saved your door edge from impacts? Are they worth drilling holes into one's doors?

dom

My 560SL is black and while I didn't install the door edge guards, it does have them. The black ones.

First, it's very hard to see them. If you're not looking for them, you won't notice them.

Second, while I'm always careful opening the doors, my kids will throw a door into just about anything. So I'd have to say yes, they almost certainly have saved my doors.

I haven't looked that closely, but I don't think mine required drilling. I'll check that out.

Door Edge Guards

I found those edge guards at www.************************. They indicate that they must be installed with screws. I've wondered however if they can be superglued. If they are preformed they might. have not tried it yet.
