lights

tnguyen do you mean true xenon? are you looking for new lights or just bulbs?

you might try www.************************

have you thought about the 1 piece euro lights? you would have many, many bulb options.

light bulbs

hi michael
do you have european headlights?

if so you need an h4 bulb. these are available in a few different colors. you can find them at

www.rallylights.com hella bulbs
www.powerbulbs.com osram + philips bulbs
www.piaa.com piaa bulbs- VERY EXPENSIVE
imo not worth it

if you have the standard u.s. [4 round lights] you need a
9007 aka hb5 aka h5

local auto parts stores or rally lights would have these as well as other places.

i'm not sure, but i am correct that you want a "brighter white" bulb ?

you might also do a "search" on headlight bulbs, overwattage bulbs, maybe even euro lights.

i hope this has helped

european lights

tnguyen

euro's is the only way to be able to see at night.
the beam pattern is FAR superior. the glass lens can be replaced if it gets broken.
i'm only 42 and i don't see as well at night as i used to, but with my euro's it's a joy to drive at night.

it is also the origianlly designed look for these cars.

my euro's are the best money i have EVER spent on ANY car.

there are a number of places you can check. i would ONLY buy bosch or hella, they were oem. here's a few

maybe ? www.ebay.com

new + nice used ones available-- www.adsitco.com

new -- www.capitolwest.com

you can save money if you get their visa or mastercard--
www.************************

also -- www.bekkers.com

mine were installed by a friend, it doesn't take very long. if you get these installed around $ 100.00 would be my guess.

then they must be "aimed". i can help you with that.
make sure they hook up your "city lights". it's a 4 or 5 watt bulb used at night in europe when cars are driving in town. it is hard to see but is on in the 560sl picture and also the picture below my name.

Peter,

Thanks a bunch. Let me go on one of these sites and check them out. BTW, does 560SL has 'city light'? I own a '89 560SL and I am not sure about the 'city light' switch. Plus I am also a new owner (7 mos.) so I am not familiar with a lot of stuff on the 560SL.

Thanks again,

Michael

city lights

hello michael

almost any EURO light you buy will have a city light, it is how other cars know you are a 2 track vehicle.

a u.s. term for city lights would be parking lights or marker lights.

on your light switch, a single turn to the right.

you might even do a "search" on city lights.

let us know what you do.

hello michael

http://www.mbca.org/w124.htm

check this out it gives ideas for upgrading your wiring.

this is a SAFETY procedeure for using higher or over wattage bulbs.

i am currently using 80/100 watt "heliolite xenon h4's" from capitol west. i have been using these [ off and on, mostly on] for well over a year.

i have been very satisfied with them. if you are getting your lights from them, i'd just buy those bulbs there also. 1 stop shopping.

While we're on the topic of lights...

The light switch on my 560sl pull out one stop to turn on the fog lights, just as the manual says. But it also pulls out another stop and nothing seems to happen. It's also not mentioned in the manual. Anybody have any idea what it's for?

rear fog light

david langsam,

pulling out twice generally will activate a rear fog light.

basically there is an extra bulb in the left rear light, it comes on to increase the vehicles ability to be seen in bad weather.
