pictures of TPS adapter

So, here are the pis and specs on the TPS adapter. Sorry for the bad quality on the drawings, I did not have much time to do them.

This is very interesting, I've just megasquirted my 280SL but when I see your pictures I wish I had a V8 instead...

Alabbasi: you did

After wiring and rewiring, it fired up today. I have not tuned it yet, it is running with my 380SL map and standard pre-ignition but it is running. I will post some pictures later.

There really isn't anything wrong with green anti freeze these days. The chemistry has somewhat changed since the old days and in any case, it only becomes a problem if you don't flush it every couple of years.

All the green means is you definitely aren't using something tested by MB. Do so at your own risk (of waterpump or other corrosion failures).

Zerex G-05 is the same stuff, available (might take a little looking around), and not as expensive.

Doom and gloom, the 380SL preceded G0-5 which has a change interval of 5 years / 150,000 miles. The green stuff is fine as long as you flush it every couple of years.

Not that I'm against Zerex, it's only a couple of dollars more then the green stuff. But I wouldn't leave it in there for 150,000 miles either.

Back to the megasquirt conversion. I have seen a few now and for the life of me can't see where the air flow is measured. In the ancient bosch system it's a plate moving a piston, in a modern car it's the wire mass air sensor. What does a megasquirt use to tell how much ait is going in? Throttle position only tells how much you WANT to go in. Curious minds wanna know.

Megasquirt measures Incoming Air Temperature. The O2 sensor on the exhaust measures how close the fuel/air mix is to 14.1 to 1 and adjusts the mixture accordingly, with fine adjustments from the software.

Planning a conversion myself.
