Bought another SL 107.

1984 380SL. Parts car. Pretty sure the engine is blown. Had quite a few relays and control units for a 560SL in the trunk. Good score for my '86 560SL.

Sure... Ask for an intervention on one forum and brag about buying on another.

I did not know how it would turn out till I bought it.

You just went to the bottom of my list for part requests.

It looks pretty nice for a parts car. I had a Euro 500 engine that I could just not give away up until a couple of months ago. Timing huh?

There is rust that does not show in the pictures. Bubbles around the gas filler lid and over one headlight. Hooked up a good battery and engine will not turn over. I will take the valve covers off and look at it but even if it were a driver it is worth maybe 2-3K. "84 380s just are not the most sought after models.

In that case, I can put you in touch with someone who could really use some front end parts (hood, fenders, grill etc).

It is a shame how someone treated that car. Hurts me.

The hood, grill and trunk lid are spoken for. Fenders both have rust issues. Believe it or not I also have a request for the engine/boat anchor. I will keep the Fuel distributor, WUR and a couple of other bits. Need to see what will cross to my '84 500SL.

Nice parts car.It will certainly pay for itself in parts sales if you part it out.

Roncallo. Check the 560 relays and parts that were in the trunk.

Also had a 560SL air cleaner housing.

I certainly hope you're keeping the hood....
Though.... Is there something different about the 560's hood?

The 560 hood is aluminum. Not sure about this one. Strange things happen. My '73 has an aluminum hood also.

560 hood have a notch cut out for a larger brake booster. My guess is a 560 hood will fit all 107's but only a 560 hood will go on a 560. I also believe all 107 hoods were AL except for the 380.

Yep with the exception of the 026 cars, the pre 81 models are steel and post 81 are aluminum.
