Soft top

I took my Mercedes sl 500 to the dealer to fix the hydronic system which was leaking on the passenger frontside. They fixed it and tested it in my presence. Today I tried to open the top and the top stopped half way. Continuing to press the button only clicked but no movement. Can someone explain to me in layman's English what might have happened? A fuse?

Need to know the year of the vehicle. There are 3 different soft top controllers used over the 12 year R129 production run. Reseting procedure depends on which of the 3 you have.
