107 guage cluster not working

Hey guys,

Maybe you can help me out. I am out of town and just had my mother-in-law call me and said that the entire gauge cluster on her 1980 R-107 450SL is not working. No oil pressure, no gas guage, no nothing....is there something simple (aside from fuses) I can have my son check out before we take it to a shop??

Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks in advance.

Only thing simple other than the fuses would be a loose plug on the back of the cluster or a broken ground circuit from the cluster.

However, either case would require pulling the steering wheel to get the cluster out.

well to remove it , but to check the plug in the back you may be able to reach under, I can on my 72 but I'm a pretty small guy. Also you could run a temp ground from cluster just to see if that is the issue. And the fuses as mentioned, but that seems unusual
