85 380SL Oil temperature sender
Hey fellow Mercedes people! I need help FINDING out where a part is located physically on the engine. The part in wuestion is an oil temperature switch that tells the Idle Control Unit that the oil is up to temperature and effects the idle speed. My old Chilton's Manual says it is in the right side of the engine but I can't find it. Can anyone tell me what component it is close to? My only candidate is really buried but looks to be close to the oil filter. Can anyone help?

The MB
manual says it is beside the oil filter. |

it's lower down and a little more in than the oil pressure wire. the wire is thin and looks just like the oil pressure one. just stick your hand down in there, by the filter, and feel for it, you can't see it.
