Everyone, Monika... Monika, everyone

If you have read my thread on pulling the trigger on a 1974 450 SL, I had no pictures to post. That was due to my being in an iPad and having no way to get pix off my camera to it.

Well here are some pictures of my new girl.

I always liked red heads!

You're going to have to learn the Bosch D-Jetronic ignition system. The Other Forum has a very extensive library called the Encyclopedia Germanica v107, the "EGv107" for short. The system is pretty robust, but there are a couple of 'gotchas', the pulse generator in the bottom of the distributor, and the fact that it has breaker points. You will need a dwell meter and a timing light, or a Pertronix. Vacuum lines are very important.

Check to make sure the subframe recall has been done, and get it done if it hasn't.

We'll be here to help however we can.

Thanks Scott.. I am over there as JN74SL as I could not get my old account open. I have been reading the EGv107 and it is full of good stuff. I think I might have the crud in the swirl chamber as she seemed to be running out of gas with the gauge reading 1/2. After putting in 5 gallons,it ran great again... So either the gauge is off or there I s the crud problem in the tank. I am getting a new tank from the PO so I will clean it out and use it.

Nice set of wheels, pity they've put the steering wheel on the wrong side though
