Sun visor take apart

How does the vanity mirror mechanism come out of the sun visor assy? Are there any screws or is it just snapped in?

Vanity mirror

It is a 1998 R129. I am trying to fix the rattling mirror cover since it appears to have lost the axle pins for this cover.

Visor inserts

The vanity mirrors, lamps and covers are removed as a unit. CAREFULLY slide a flat blade in the space at the bottom of the mirror insert, and GENTLY pry upwards. The unit is held in place by small tabs that you'll see when you lift the insert. Apply enough upward leverage with the flat blade to clear fhe tabs and it will pop out. Replacement insertx inc/covers are available from Phil or parts.com.
You can look up the part numbers at epcstartek if you need them. Remember to add your VIN # to any order you place, along with the 4-digit color code you need. The EPC will also have the color codes, or call the dealer for them.
