Pardon me for asking, but what is your definition of original? Because those aren't the original wheels. The original wheels for an '88 look like the previous picture.

DomChang's got the same wheels on his 87...perhaps they ARE indeed original...

...at what year did MB switch over to the 8-holers on the SL?
