Crossfire ignition help

My friend owns a Chrysler Crossfire. She said she was having problems with the ignition and thought it was the sticky ignition problem. On Friday I took the car from her and took the ignition out to find that the sticky ignition fix had already be done. So then I just lubricated it with graphite and gave it back to her. Today she sent me a video of her problem. She can turn the key all the way to where the starter should engage but it doesn't engage. My thoughts are A) the starter solenoid is bad. B) the transmission position sensor is in the wrong place. C) the antitheft key system is at fault.

But, I do not know these "touch start" systems.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Chris

PS: I know it is not a "Mercedes" but the ignition is Mercedes and its is a Daimler Chrysler vehicle based off an SLK chassis.

Nothing magic about the Crossfire.

I'd start by putting a meter or test light on terminal 50 on the starter solenoid to see if it's getting power when the key is turned to Start. If it's getting power, then the problem is most likely the starter.

If there is no power, you need a wiring diagram (Alldatadiy.com) to start working through the current path (ignition switch, trans lock-out, etc.).
