Type 129 Battery Overflow

Battery Acid Overflow pipe.
I am told by my Service man that there should be a plastic overflow pipe to stop any spilt battery acid from corroding the bodywork. I have found the overflow hole in the end of my Hoppecke battery but cannot find the exit point through the bodywork. Help Please.
