Stuck FD to WUR fuel line nut
I started to check fuel pressures on 380sl but found the nut at fuel distributor is stuck hard. It's in a tight spot between two output lines, and I can't get a tubing wrench on it because of the FD inlet fitting.
Is there a brand of/type wrench that will get in there or should I grind a 14 mm open end down so it will grab more of the nut/fit in between the two outlet towers? or ????. Edit: Got it. Last edited by Chris8; 02-21-2014 at 08:26 PM. |

You need a flare nut wrench, this looks like 6 point box wrench with a slot on top. Be sure to use a regular wrench to hold the adapter fitting.
For very stuck fitting nuts, I've used a punch parallel to the line to compress the fitting slightly ( more than a light tap but not bash. ) . If there is an adapter in the system, check tightness as this operation may loosen this as well. Removing the two adjacent injector lines to gain clearance will help. ( be sure to clean the area before removing lines to prevent dirt entry. ) |
