Source for 560SL door sill protector?

I have a 1987 560 SL that I restored a few years back. One of the only non-original parts I put on it was a chrome door sill protector. That protector has caused problems by making the seal so tight it's difficult to close and open the doors. I want to replace with an OEM-type rubber door sill protector but can't find any online. Does anyone have any sources? Thanks in advance.

Glenn

Very likely is still available from dealer/classic center, but I also saw several sets for sale over the last few months on ebay.

Thanks. I'll check those out. Already checked the obvious sources like Performance Products and others, but couldn't find them anywhere.

Is this what you are looking for?
Or is that the aftermarket part you now have?

The rubber piece is I think 1076860180. 25.88 here.

Did you install the wide chrome piece from an earlier model?
If so you will also need the crome rails 1076860336 & 046. 45.00 each. You might verify the PN's are what you are looking for before ordering.

I would not even bother getting a used one. Although I did manage to peel my 85's off intact, the 86's came off in pieces.

That chrome piece in the middle left is what I currently have. It's nice looking but alters the fit of the door.

Rowdie, that link didn't take me to a particular part and I wasn't able to find it with a search of the site. Anyway, I did find what I was looking for on ebay. The new OEM rubber "door sill mats" sell for just under $100 for the pair. I'm going to check with my local dealer and see if I can get them for less (at least avoid shipping costs). Not holding my breath, though.

Is this what you are trying to find? This is an '86 560SL. If so then enter the part numbers in the link I posted.

I realize that this is an ancient thread, but does anyone know if the part is available in various colors? The part number 1076860180 is the part number for all of the colors, it doesn't mean that any specific color is still available... I have some decent red ones and I don't know if I should toss them or ebay them...

Same part number for all but there is a sub category listing color code when ordering.
