sometimes my 97 SL500 runs rough not when moving at idle I put car in nutral rev it up to2500 rpm this takes care of the prob but it will return after a while any help would be wonderfull

Could be a lot of things but, the first thing to check is the vacuum hose on the fuel pressure regulator. If the regulator leaks it can pump fuel into the intake making for a rich mixture.
