Rearend interchange 126 to 107
I have a LSD out of a 1986 560 SEL. Will it fit my 1980 450 SLC ?
Thanks Rev. Buzz |

Different method of mounting to the subframe - I think you'd have to modify the SLC subframe to get it to fit. You might also find different sized yokes. You might also find different diameter cans on the axles.
EDIT - forgot to say => Pictures of the subframe can be seen on the Russian EPC on www.everythingbenz.com

As Stretch has pointed out, the swap is not a direct bolt-in, however a competent rear end shop can install all the internal parts in an earlier housing to create a bolt-in.

I think it would be an interesting project. I think perhaps I'd look into making the W126 subframe fit the 107 though...
...either way if you don't do it yourself I reckon it might cost the same money as fitting a Quaife limited slip differential kit See this for example Fancy some LSD for your diesel?

Of course - I didn't think of that - most certainly the way forward (though I like the Quaife system better than the few friction discs chucked into the Mercedes diffs)
