Starting question
My 83 380sl occassionally will not crank. What I mean by that is every so often, when it hit the key, nothing happens. If I move the shifter around from P to N and back, it fires right up.
Yesterday, I was doing a cylinder compression test so I had to crank it a bunch and it was not cranking more than 50% of the time. New battery, good starter, cranks fine when it does. Q: What does that sound like? Do these cars have neutral safety switches? Maybe a bad ignition switch? Thanks. Don't want to get stuck somewhere. J. Boggs |

Make sure shifter bushings are good and then replace neautral safety switch.
