early Sl parts interchange info needed.
Been quite a while since I frequented this forum but hope someone can help me out.Was awakened by the police early this am.It seems my SL was an innocent victim of a gang shootout. There are now several large bullet holes in my passenger door!!
Will the doors from an SLC work on an SL?.There are several 107 SLC cars in the PNP yards near me but no SL's at this time.Fortunately my window was up so the glass is intact.Initial inspection appears that the interior panels weren't damaged either.Cops are dismantling my door to retrieve the bullets/fragments as I write this.My car is a 74,are there any differences between earlier and late models? I thank you all in advance for any assistance you can offer!! |

Door are basically the same from '71 through '85. There is some extra reinforcing in the later models starting in the 70's.. SLC doors are the same as SL. The glass is different. I think the SLC glass is taller.

Keep it as a conversation factor - there are many cars around with vinyl stick-on bullet holes, but very few with real ones.
Any SL door should fit and with the number made there shouldn't be much trouble in finding one, particularly through the computer system employed by the better breakers. SLC door will not work. |
