The leak is along the top of the back window. I deliberately took it through a touchless car wash to check the leak factor. Also a little came in where the top meets the top left corner of the windshield.

This happened when the high preasure spary passed over.

I thank you for the spark plugs recomendation.

Thanks

Ron

Here is a link to the on line service manual. Model 107

The CD/DVD is easier to navigate. Paper manuals are best.

Hope to see you there.
I agree but I am a bit biased. Three things about this forum on PeachParts that I don't like.
1. It lumps all SL models together. Members don't always identify the model in the title so I end up wasting my time opening threads about R129s or others.
2. You can't post links to other parts suppliers with less expensive parts than Peach/Pelican Parts. And most of the time their price can be beat.
3. As mentioned responses are normally slow.

Good morning all

Update time: one of tne things the previous owner mentioned is the radio my need replacing. He said he was putting the facaplate back on it, and it hasnn't worked since. Upon investigation, I noticed the #12 fuse was missing. Each time I replaced it, the fuse would blow. I took off the faceplate from the radio and the fuse continued to blow.

This morning I removed and disconnected the radio and the fuse still blows. I did check the fusevon the back of the radio, and it is good. Any suggestions of what I might chech next?

Thanks

Ron

Is the fuse list still attached to the cover? Fuse 12 has many other circuits involved.

Yes the legend is intact. The antenna and several other circuts are listed. He did break the antenna mast wihen removing the car cover. I can't agine that having an impact.

I can imagine it blowing a fuse with the radio on if the mast is still broken and jammed.
The alarm is also on that circuit and at this age is notorious for failing to function properly. I disconnect both plugs to it in my '86 560SL.

The plugs to the alarm and antenna? Or are you saying there are two plugs to the alarm? Where are they located? I do know the plug to the antenna is on the antenna motor housing.

* I unpluged the antenna, and the fuse still blows.

Remove the glove box liner. Fairly simple. Use a small screw driver to pop up the center of the plastic rivets. Remove and save them to reuse. Pop out the light fixture and unplug. Be careful as the th hot wire is still hot with door open. Stand by and I will find a pic of the two plugs..

I am electronics challenged. Someone more adept could probably tell you how to diagnose with a meter. I just unplug every component in the circuit one at a time. Most of the time that works but if there is a pinched hot wire feeding the component such as the radio I would be lost.
I can rebuild an engine but lost on electrical problems.

Okay, I disconnected the alarm and the fuse continues to blow. Below is a list of item on the #12 circuit.

1. Diagnostic
2. Clock
3. Trunk light
4. Roof light
5. Monitor term 5
6. Automatic antenna
7. Electronic radio
8. Trailer turn signal control unit

I'm not sure what #5 is?

I also notice this item in the picture hanging out in the dash behind the glove box a little toward the center vents, and connected to nothing. Does anyone know what it is? What should it be connect to?

Thanks

Ron

Thanks Roadie I am somewhat electronics challenged too. I have been unplugging the different components hoping for a cure.

I think eventually I will stumble across a fix.

Ron,
One simple question, do you have the correct value fuse in #12? It looks like an 8amp fuse, possibly someone put the wrong size in. Still looking at schematic.
