16x7 et35 on '84 r107
Im trying to figure out if these BBS wheels will work on the 84 280sl. They are from a 190e I think. They are 16x7 et35. That is 5 mm inward . I measured the clearance and it seemed to have 15 mm or so to go before I hit the tie rod with the stock wheels ET30 bundts. Tire diameter calculation is very close to the same. 205 55/16 vs 205 70/14
I am thinking of 5 mm spacers but have read mixed opinions on those. I could try I suppose. They are not too pricey. I could sell them to someone with a 190e as well.

C.D:
Have a look at the pics in this link. It may be useful to think of the spacer as a part of the wheel, rather than a part of the hub. At 5mm there will probably be conflict between spacer ID and hub OD, at 10mm probably OK. The spacers in the pics are 19mm. http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/sl-forum/378988-hubcentric-wheel-adapters.html |

Honestly I may be in the market to sell her soon and was wondering weather I would benefit from putting these wheels on to sparkle things up a bit. I am thinking it may not be worth the trouble if I have to sell. I mays well focus on dialing the interior. It will be worth it to fix up the inside for some appeal. I will likely sell the wheels . A little bummed though. It is running really smooth lately and quite a joy to drive. Maybe I can keep her, but I'm looking for a house and will need funds for fixing it up.

With no spacers at all they should fit, but the ride quality may suffer. Correct?
