sl500 antenna

Trying to replace antenna rubber groments
Do I have to take antenna out or can I do it
without taking it out.
Also, how do you get to the screw without rounding
it out. All hoses for the top are in the way.

[97 SL320]

From what I recall on my 97 SL320 ( and 97 C280 ) when changing the antenna mast, there are 2 flats where the antenna pops out of the car. Remove this using an open end or crescent wrench and the black plastic comes off to access the seals.
