280sl fuel line crush washers

Mechanic installed a new fuel accumulator and was to install a new fuel filter at the same time. Unfortunately I had ordered the wrong filter.

I now have the correct filter but the mechanic says he needs new crush washers for the fuel line connectors. MB calls them sealing rings.

Searched the internet and the fuel line assembly is not available as a service part.

So, If he pulls the line are the crush washers a common part found in a hardware store or are they a MB only item?

Crush washers are common across many cars ( mostly Asian and Euro ), industrial engines ( Deutz, Detroit , Cummins ) and earth moving equipment. ( Case , Cat < John Deere )

Most times they are copper, sometimes aluminum. You will need an ID and OD measurement.

Easy. Go to the local MB dealer parts department. If they don't sell parts for ROTW models tell them it is for a same year 380S or 450L.

Thanks again Rowdie.

My nearest dealer is mailing me the washers.

They are not shy on their pricing.

Buy yourself a set of metric copper washers - they come in little assortment boxes over here (in Europe). I'm sure somewhere like McCaster whatever (not 100% sure of the shop name but heard it mentioned here a few times) will sell them.

That's who I meant! (I don't know them other than via this forum - hence the slight variation in naming)
