Rust in trunk area

This may have been talked about on this forum,but i thought
i would show you a good solution to this problem,because if left it only gets worse.
How many times have you seen this especially on older Pagodas.
Remove the rubber mat, treat and repair the area,i will show a forum on this later.
Place a piece regular think cardboard on trunk floor, cut it out to the shape required,than replace your factory rubber mat on top.
Card board is a wonderful product ,it has a cavity between the 2 layers and so
it breathes,and it is also helps absorb moisture,i have used this for years under my cars in garages on top of cold concrete floors,keeps temperatures at a better during winter.
If you have a car in this situation in the trunk area , go out and do this to day.

WR Thank you for the information . And its a must do for me in the winter months Might even try it under my car cover in the winter . I use bed linen on my car body before i put the car cover on .I can put it on the roof on top of the sheet then cover it up .

rust generally does not smell.

URINE causes rust, and certainly smells...

that appears to be caused by condensation, from either uninsulated ductwork, or excessive cold air from improper duct sizing, or inadequate air velocity.

the outside rust can easily be from crawlspace moisture.

all things that need addressing before you replace any ductwork.
