Painted my wheels
Just for your info. I have a 82 380SL in slow restoration and wanted to buy new wheels and tires to replace the terribly faded and chipped stock wheels but just now do not have the 1200 or so bucks for the ones I really want. So I decides to redo my old wheels just for a temperary look. I searched around and found the Wurth original paint and clearcoat. Spent around $50 bucks for paint, clearcoat, paint remover, steel wool. Probably about 4 hours per wheel and they really turned out very nice. I think that they would have looked factory if I had spent the money to have them blasted. Could not get them as clean and smooth by hand but never the less they are certainly a lot better for now. You have to get real close to see any flaws.

Rayson,
Where did you pick up the Wurth products? Thanks,

painted wheels
Searched all over Los Angeles and could not find the Wurth paint and then went online to www.WurthUsa.com and found Wurth West in Ontario Ca. Called and inquired, drove there and purchased what I needed. I used about 1 1/2 cans of silver paint and half can of clearcoat. The more time spent in prep the better the job will be. Wurth is supposed to be the same german paint used on original. I found it very good.
