Question 1990 300SL RPM's to 0???

Tried to Shop Forum but no response!!!

So....I come to the SL experts!

Car seems to run fine except periodically. While crusing and after taking my foot off the gas pedal, the RPM's sometimes drop to zero. They come back up again when I press the gas pedal. If I come to a complete stop, the car is not running. What would make the engine stop running then start again simply by pressing the gas? If I apply just a little gas pedal pressure, even while coming to a stop, everything is fine.

Only happens periodically.

Anyone have a similar experience? Ideas on solution?

Thanks!!!

Sounds like your fuel filters are clogged/clogging. Something may be a miss in the fuel/fuel delivery lines, etc. This is where the problem lies. Where along the route of fuel tank to injector, I don't know. I would have the fuel filters replaced and take it from there.
