Bad miss above 4000

In reading posts I have still not been able to figure out what has happened. I really like my old car and am concerned about hurting her in any manner. I am trying to refurbish myself as I am able to.
72 - 3.5 SLC Euro model 99,000 miles
Put a Pertronic ignitor ignition in. When I did my tack went crazy. This is the first thing that went bad. Ordered another tach for 77 and later for the electronics scheme. Tach not in yet. Then on acceleration above 4000 grand it misses something awful, I have worked with Pertronic's people and still not able to find out what is wrong. I did find out in all of this that I was able to fix the tach by attaching it to the low voltage ballist resistor on the fender by the coil and not the other ballist below it which has 12 volts coming from it. There is only 8 volts coming into the first ballister and only 8 volts running to the coil. Coil is only putting out 8 volts. I went to purchase a new coil and they would have to order a standard or I could of gotten one off the shelf, performance type, then this individual tells me that a performance coil would not work on my model unless I removed the ballist resistors on the fender, so I did not get it. Both my ohm meters do not read in the 1-3 ohm but in 100s to 1000s range, so I can not give ohm readings. I had a very slight miss, but not all the time, before I put the Pertronic in, that is why I did it, thought points needed changing. With Pertronic in it is just terrible, but below 4000 grand it screams as usual. I found out from Pertronic that the system did need 12 volts and they suggested I attach to the ballist that has 12 volts coming from it. Works fine, but miss is still there.
No miss at idle
No miss until 4000 plus, falls on her face after that
Plugs are fresh
Dist cap is clean
Rotor is clean
Wires are new
Has anyone got any suggestions or advice, please help.
Thank you,
Tim
