93 SL soft top

Soft top worked fine yesterday. Today it will not open,. With tool unlocked front latches and on using soft top switch in the opening direction it relocked it self !. Same problem a year ago and dealer tried power module replacment which had no result. eventualy they got it working but not sure where fault was . Sugestions included forward top latches bypassing. Any bright ideas out there?

Hi,
I may not be able to solve the problem but replacing the modules is not the answer. Simply 'it' thinks the hard top is on!!
Meaning that when the hard top 'is' on the car, the switch locks it in reverse... I would think that one of these micro switches that sense the hard top are disfunctional. So if the switch is locking it back-up it's logical. If it senses the presents of the hard top it will not allow the soft top to come up and throw the hard top onto the hood!!?
Just a suggestion.

The time I had a similar problem I drove the car to a totally level lot, drove forward and reverse after that I parked and the system worked OK, I belive there is a level sw. an interlock that sometimes gets stuck any how good luck. Fausto 90 300 SL
