Since no one has given you their opinion, and though I hesistate to answer, I think tinted windows would be a mistake. The joy of these cars is to see and be seen and window tinting usually looks tacky.

If the sun is out, the top should be off and the windows down. What's to tint?

I think that I'm going to go ahead and look into having the windows ever so slightly tinted. I didn't buy the car to become a poser... I bought it because I mostly like their style, which is a bit of a classic.

hrm... where's the sarcasm smiley? I think richard was trying to say that the tint would look a little "misplaced". I personally don't think that the tint would be very good, because the soft top would look silly, and if you had the top off, the windows would look strange next to the windsheild. this is only my opinion, you can do whatever you want.

4NDELIT,

I think you're right and will not be taking the thought any further. Thanks for your reply.

4Delit, did you put in the Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks or the OEMs? Did it make a large improvement in the handling? Thanks.

I put in the Heavy Duty shocks... it made a large improvement in handeling. I would recommend it to anyone. Even while I was installing them I could tell a difference, the old shocks were compressed easily to remove them, but the new shocks would only compress slightly if I put my ENTIRE body weight into them, and I used to weigh 200 lbs back then. The car still has a noticable amount of body roll, but I guess that's due to the springs, and I'm not sure if I want to change those because it might devalue the car (most buyers want a mercedes to "float", not ride on rails).

Delit, do you know if anyone makes a sport-spring kit for the SLs? Thanks for the info on the shocks.

I haven't really heard of any... I tried looking arond, but I didn't find any. The problem with getting stiffer springs is that you might devalue the car a little. A lot of people expect a floaty ride, and might not enjoy a stiff ride as much as you and I would. On the other hand, if you want to keep your car, and you want to out-corner hondas, go for it! Right now with the billsteins, I can handle as well as my friend's brand new focus that weighs about half as much!
