torque converter

Any one have any experience with replacing or rebuilding torque converter on auto 71sl

The problem with rebuilding just the torque convt. is the 'might as well' syndrome. It goes, "Well, now that I have the tramsmission and tc out 'I might as well' get the transmission gone through". "Well, since the trans. is out 'I might as well' put a new rear seal in the engine". "Well, now that I have all this room 'I might as well' put new engine mounts in". "Well, the sub frame mounts aren't far away either". It can go on and on.
