Hood Pad

I have 1975 450sl, there is no hood pad on this car and I was wondering if it is really needed. I only plan to drive it on weekends in MA.

It's a cheap part....why not? Share in the fun of having quick dry adhesive stuck to your hair like the rest of us.

Even with the high underhood temps, probably not enough to blister the paint above.

It's REAL purpose is to drop down and snuff out a fire if one ever occurs.

Probably quiets the engine compartment as a side feature.
