hot spark plugs for 1977 450 SL
I do most driving local (little highway) and plugs show black soot (too rich mixture) Is there a hotter spark plug that would help this condition? Car runs well, good power, poor gas milage.(about 10 mpg local) Any advice apreciated. Abe G

actually, 10mpg city driving seems to be close to right... if you're running a little rich, there's a screw you can turn to change the mixture (you have the K-Jetronic). I'll try to find you a site that tells you how to do that.

here ya go...
http://www.students.tut.fi/~hezekiel/bosch.htm there's a part on mixture adjustment, maybe someone on this board can check my info before you do it (I admit, I have never done this before ). |
